Draw some ocean animals!

Move like an Ocean Creature!

We just started talking about the Ocean after we read a classic book about a fish named Swimmy. Click here to watch the story read in Japanese

We have been learning a lot of new songs in kindergarten, to help us learn the names of new animals and learn something about the writing in Japan. Here are two of our favorites:

Panda, Rabbit, Koala (panda, usagi, koala)

Piglet, Raccoon, Fox and Cat (kobuta, tanuki, kitsune, neko)

おれねこ---The "I am the Cat" Song!

We started talking about Penguins and have been using the following learning videos to help us use our words to describe different things, such as Penguins! We also watched Japan's favorite Penguin named "Pingu" and all the silly things he and his friends do!

We have been working on a Unit called "My Body/My Health". Here is an exercise video that we did in class from Japan, that practices and exercises all our body parts!

Here is two other exercise videos that we like. The first one is about soccer and the second one talks about the best thing is to get healthy together!

Here are a few videos to help us remember and learn our body parts.

Even though the Japanese don't usually celebrate the secular side of Christmas (religious side) they have adopted some traditions from countries that do. Here is a cute Jingle Bell song in Japanese that we have begun to sing together in class.

Can you draw Santa?

We've been singing a traditional Japanese song about falling acorns; here is a short video on how to draw an acorn!

It is New Year's Time in Japan!
あけましておめでとうございます。Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu! Happy New Year!
We have been talking a little bit about the Japanese New Year in Kindergarten Japanese Class. We will also play a traditional Japanese children's game called "Fukuwarai" (funny face) which is similar to "Pin the Tail on the Donkey". It will help us remember the names of our body parts in Japan too. You can play with the computer here
